Jack Anderson served as a partner in the firm for 35 years, including 25 years as managing partner, until his retirement as a partner in 2007. He continues to serve the firm and our clients as a consultant. Jack provides a wide array of management advisory services including strategic planning, management compensation, capitalization, and tax planning. He also works on audits of financial statements and agreed-upon procedure engagements to evaluate internal controls, primarily for financial institutions.
Jack has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a major in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Science with a concentration in Organization Development from The Johns Hopkins University . He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants , Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants , American Management Association, and the Risk Management Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the MACPA and the Institute of Financial Education.
Before beginning his career in public accounting, Jack worked in the Controller's Division of Maryland National Bank, where he was responsible for compiling combined monthly financial statements and statistics for the branch network as well as consolidating the annual budget requests.
He has served on the Quality Higher Education Committee of the MACPA, having completed two years as chairman. He is past chairman of the Management of an Accounting Practice Committee and the Accounting and Auditing Conference Committee of the MACPA. He served a three-year term on the MACPA Reporting Standards Review Committee and Continuing Professional Education Committee and has served as Chairman of each Committee. He has also served on the Long Range Planning, Nominations and Cooperation with Financial Institutions Committees. He served three years on the AICPA Committee on Banking and participated in re-writing Audits of Banks while serving on the Committee.
Jack served on a special committee to investigate required continuing professional education for CPAs in Maryland. He was appointed to and elected Chairman of a committee appointed by the Maryland State Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy to provide guidance in drafting policies and implementing the regulations pertaining to Continuing Professional Education. He served as Chairman of the Continuing Professional Education Committee to review the CPE policies and procedures of the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy.
Jack is past president of the Cedarcroft Community Association and is currently serving as Treasurer. He is a member of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Post 22, and the Towson Chamber of Commerce, Inc., formerly the Towson Business Association. He recently completed a term as President of the Towson Business Association and is a member of the Towsontown Spring Festival Committee.
